

Lena Randazzo Saladino, age 96, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2019. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years John V. Saladino Sr., and her parents Anthony Randazzo and Frances Caruso Randazzo. She was also preceded by her brother Anthony Randazzo, sister Bernadine Randazzo and brother Louis Randazzo. She is survived by her son, Tony “A. J.” Saladino and his wife Judy of Hurst, TX; son John Saladino, Jr. and his wife Margaret of Slidell, LA; and daughter Jane Saladino-Yoas and her husband Claude of Cypress, TX.
She was very proud of her eight grandchildren, Dan Saladino (wife Beth), Ben Saladino, Amy Saladino Chenault (husband Chad), Ann Saladino Lindholm (husband Ray), Randy Saladino (wife Amelie), Ryan Saladino (wife Tina), Lauren Miller Grumbles (husband Lee) and Blake Miller. She was equally proud of her 16 great-grandchildren, Laura, Andrew, Emily, William, Nichole, Bobby, Lena, Caroline, Madison, Morgan, Mallory, Roman, Marisa, Mackenzie, Ethan and Avery.
She graduated from R. E. Rabouin Vocational School for Women where she learned dress making. She later married the love of her life, Johnny, who served in World War II. Together they raised their three children in Gentilly where she was a long time parishioner of Saint James Major Catholic Church. After her move to Slidell she became a member of Saint Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church where she also volunteered as a cookie baker for the St. Joseph’s altar and was a member of a rosary group. She was known for her Ice Tea and loved feeding her family and friends. Her faith, determination, and the love of her family, guided all she did. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00 PM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
