Leo "Bubba" John Perez, Jr., a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish, died on February 14th, 2026, at the age of 66. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Candice Topey Perez; three children, Nicole Morales (C.J.), Katie Perez, and Leo "L.J." Perez; three grandchildren, Peyton Barbay, Steven Morales, and Sebastian Morales; sisters, Shirley Serigne (Rickey) and Lisa Frey (Wade); godson, Rickey Serigne, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Perez, Sr. and Josephine Mackiewicz Alphonso; his brother, Guilford "Guille" Perez, and his son-in-law, Justin Barbay. He was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and was a friend to many in the community. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family and his dog, Myles.
A memorial service will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Violet, LA on Saturday, March 14th, 2026, at 9:00 AM, followed by mass at 11:00 AM.
