Marcia Ann Townsend

Marcia Ann Townsend, nee Arcement, passed away on 10 March 2025 after a long and full life. Marcia was born on 25 November 1948 in New Orleans to Marcel Arcement and Eunice (Hebert) Arcement. She married Tim Townsend in 1967, and they shared 38 years of marriage before he passed away in 2005. A native of Violet, LA, she is a previous resident of Picayune, MS, and most recently resided in Slidell, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, Marcel “Dinky” Arcement Jr and Morris Arcement, along with her four-legged children Barney, her beagle, and Brandy, her basset hound. She is survived by her brother Michael Arcement and sister Mary (Arcement) Franks, and in true Cajun fashion, too many cousins to name. Though she did not have any children of her own, Marcia was the doting aunt to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces.

Marcia spent many years bowling with the ladies and traveling to different tournaments with them, going to Reno and Vegas for some of her favorite stops. She traveled frequently, always up for a ride down the road to meet up with family or friends. Driving down the coast was a favorite for her, especially if it included stopping at a donut shop with a jukebox. She and her husband loved riding the motorcycle and would jump on the bike to get a cup of coffee or to enjoy the scenery. Though sometimes feisty, Marcia will be greatly missed by all.

Marcia will be laid to eternal rest in a ceremony at a later date.
