Marcus Mathew Albrecht Jr.

Marcus Mathew Albrecht Jr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 3rd, 2016, at the age of 82. He was the beloved husband of the late Maxine Rivet Albrecht. Son of the late Emelda Hartman Albrecht and Marcus M. Albrecht Sr. Father of Joann Albrecht Lavigne (Ronald), whom he shared with his former spouse Alma Peterson Albrecht. Stepfather of Brenda Noel, Beverly Wilkinson, and Johnny Rivet. Brother of Shirley Douroux, June Relle, Emily Richards, Anthony Albrecht, Michael Albrecht and the late Mary Weidenbacher, Joy Waite, Johnny, Audrey, Alvin and Peter Albrecht. Grandfather of Michelle and Ronald Jr. Step grandfather of Scott, Dana, Mark, James, and Brian. He is also survived by several loving nephews and nieces. Marcus was a native of New Orleans, LA and spent many happy years in Chalmette, LA before moving to Metairie, LA following Hurricane Katrina. He enjoyed a long career as a shop foreman for the Orleans Parish School Board Transportation Department and proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1955-1957. The family would especially like to Thank Cynthia, his caretaker for the last 3 years and the staff at Passages Hospice Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, May 7th from 9:00AM – 11:00AM, followed by a funeral service in Marcus’ memory beginning at 11:00AM. He will be laid to rest in St Bernard Memorial Gardens.
