Maria is survived by her two sons: Glenn Gussoni and Antonio Gussoni; her Grandson, Glenn Gussoni, Jr.; her brother Valentine Solino, and sister Lisa Pagualato as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
She is predeceased by her former husband, Ronald J. Gussoni, her sister, Inez Cueto Navarro and her parents: Olivia Barbara Aguis (mother) and Angel Lavin Cueto (father) formerly of Santander, Spain.
Maria was born in New Orleans, LA. on May 18, 1938. She worked for Gottesman and Associates, the New Orleans Cotton Exchange and Mobil-Tenneco refineries.
Maria, known as “Sister” to her closest friends, was a loving and caring mother to her sons as well as a confidant and trusted individual to her closest friends. She was generous in nature, had a steadfast and powerful spirit, loved gardening and sports, and was sharp of wit and mind up to and until her passing. She prided herself on building and creating wealth for family and friends with little regard to personal profit. The lives that she touched and aided are too numerous to mention. She will be fondly remembered and missed by all that were privileged to have known her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. VIRTUE STREET, in Chalmette, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM.
