

Marilyn Barbier Terrebonne peacefully entered into eternal rest with our Lord on July 3rd, 2021 at the age of 93. Devoted wife of the late Major Sidney R. Terrebonne, Jr. for 65 years. Adored mother of daughter, Susan Terrebonne Robin. Daughter of the late Adrian and Margaret Klein Barbier. Loving sister of Nell Rose Capper (the late Edward). Survived by loving nieces Elizabeth Guillot (the late David), Linda Plavidal (Dr. Ferd), the late Ann Rousseau (the late Charles) and the late Mary Groce. Also, great nieces Jean Lawrence (Jim), Julie Horridge (Steve), Fay St. Germain (Rudy) and many more great nieces and nephews. Dear friend of Dot Hunter and many wonderful neighbors. And not to be forgotten grand puppy Sully.
Sid and Marilyn loved to dance and excelled in all types of dancing. Marilyn especially loved to cha cha. She was a clarinet player in Francis T. Nicholls High School marching band in the 1940s and worked as a dental assistant before her marriage.
Marilyn and her daughter, Susan, were best friends. They enjoyed many good times with family, going to the casino, shopping and dining out. They shared a very special everlasting bond.
The family would like to thank and bless the devoted employees of St. Anthony's Nursing Home and St. Joseph's Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that everyone do a random act of kindness or say a prayer for someone in need.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, July 23rd from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a memorial service in Marilyn’s memory beginning at 1:00PM. She will be laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
