Michael Albert Ferrier, age 53, passed on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 in Picayune, MS. Born on November 26, 1970, in New Orleans, LA, Michael was known for his love of the open water, the thrill of fishing, and the excitement of the casino. He lived life at his own pace, embodying a laid-back, go-with-the-flow spirit than endeared him to all who knew him.
Michael’s happiest moments were spent aboard his beloved boat, cruising the Gulf Coast and casting lines into the deep blue waters. An avid fisherman, he found peace and joy in the rhythmic lull of the ocean and the anticipation of the catch. The sea was his sanctuary, a place where he felt most at home.
When he wasn’t on the water, Michael enjoyed the lively atmosphere of the casino. The camaraderie, the games, and the buzz of excitement provided a different kind of thrill that he relished. He had a knack for finding joy in the moment.
Michael’s easygoing nature and warm heart made him a beloved friend and family member. He had a special ability to make those around him feel comfortable and at ease, often sharing stories and laughter that brightened the lives of those he touched.
Michael is survived by his loving parents Betty Gonzales Ferrier and Richard Albert Ferrier; his siblings Cathleen Ferrier Polit (Mike), Richard Anthony Ferrier, and Kevin Paul Ferrier (Alina Ferrier); his aunts Mary Carolyn Austin and Betty Ferrier; and his nieces and nephews Lacie Dietrich, Michael Dietrich, Kaitlin Polit, Abbi Harris, Ashton Ferrier, Hampton Harris, Tyelor Dietrich, Gavin Dietrich, Jayden Dietrich, Noah Dietrich, and Koralye Dietrich.
