

TSGT Michael Joseph Strahan, (U.S. Air Force, Ret), 68, passed away peacefully at Merit Health Wesley Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on June 17, 2024 at St. Bernard Catholic Church with interment in the St. Bernard Catholic Church Cemetery to follow.
Michael was the beloved son of the late Doris Chaplain Strahan and Deacon Douglas Harold Strahan. He was born on July 26, 1955 in New Orleans, LA. He graduated from Promised Land Academy in 1974. Michael enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served his Country until his retirement after twenty years of service. During his service, he was stationed in many places like Heidelberg, Germany to Edwards Air Force Base in California. Michael loved all things science fiction and fantasy, and he could probably tell you everything there was to know about Star Trek and Star Wars. He also liked to play chess and liked to read.
He is survived by his three siblings, Paul of Poplarville, MS, Sharon of London, UK, and James of Murfreesboro, TN.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held Monday, June 17, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2805 Bayou Rd, St. Bernard, LA 70085, followed by a funeral service in Michael's memory beginning at 12:00 PM.
He will be laid to eternal rest with military honors in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
