Muriel Althea Gagliano

Our mother, Muriel Althea K. Gagliano, has gone to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 4, 2014. Her very strong love and faith in Jesus has sustained her for the 86 years on this earth. She will forever be loved and missed by her children and family. She was born August 23, 1927. Daughter of the late Antoinette K.T. Scorsone and Edwin J. Keller. Sister of the late Brenda K.D. Toups and the late Victor Scorsone. Wife of the late Victor P. Gagliano Sr. Mother of Victor P. Gagliano Jr. (Jolyn) and Antoinette “Toni” G. Faurie (Charlie). Former wife of the late Frank R. Lovoi. Mother of Claudette L. Piazza (Louis) and Edwin J. Lovoi (Lynn). Proud grandmother of Patrick Piazza (Brandi), Gary P. Piazza, Kimberly Treadaway (Rory), Jason Gagliano, Leslie Riggs (Rickey), Rachel Talley (Daniel), Kevin Faurie (Mandi), Mario Gagliano, Antonio Gagliano, Victoria Gagliano and Gino Gagliano. She also leaves behind 17 great-grandchildren, each one having a different and special place in her heart. Muriel was a native of New Orleans, LA and a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. Her labors on this earth, in her earlier years, included working at the Hotel Monteleone. After some additional education, she enjoyed her career at East Jefferson Hospital until her retirement. She helped make this world a better place. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, June 7th from 12:00PM – 2:00PM, followed by a funeral service in her memory beginning at 2:00PM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
