Nelva Jeanette Delaney passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 at the age of 90. Born July 20, 1930 in Opp, Alabama, she is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Edwin P. Delaney, Jr. and her son Deon. She is survived by her three daughters, Deborah (sp. Bill), Denise (sp. Joe) and Deirdre (sp. Fred); seven grandchildren, Steve (sp. Stacy), Michael (sp. Michelle), Rachael (sp. John), Kevin, Megan, Patrick (sp. Caitlin), and Peter; and nine great grandchildren, Samuel, Maxwell, Justin, Gavin, William, Thomas, Charlotte, Maeve, and Hattie. She served as a docent and Director at the historic Beauregard-Keyes House for a number of years, and was often referred to as a true southern belle. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 11:00 AM. Due to COVID-19, services are limited to immediate family.
