

Ondolph “Bud” Joseph Riviere Jr., age 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 7, 2020. Beloved husband of Ruth Gabriel Riviere. Son of late Ondolph Joseph Riviere Sr., and Rose Parker Riviere. Father of Dawnn Wheeler (Glen), Mary “Rosie” Chauppetta (Jimmy), Margaret “Ruthie” Riviere, Sherry Dudoussat (Eddie), Ondolph “Buddy” Riviere III (Marsha), Kim Daigle (Wayne), Troy Riviere (Heather), Jason Riviere, and Gabrielle Riviere. Grandfather of Brittany Wheeler (Brian), Chantel Chauppetta (Richie), Eddie Billiot Jr. (Michelle), Craig Billiot, Justin Billiot (Brandi), Tiffany Riviere, Gabrielle Riviere, Eddie Dudoussat IV (Toni), Megan Box (Brandon), Dylan Riviere, Kimberly Rodriguez (Gerald), Marc Rodriguez Jr. (Haylie), Kurt Rodriguez (Candace), late Haden Riviere, Reid Riviere, Drey Riviere, Dalton Riviere, and Brooklyn Riviere. Great-Grandfather of Caleb Chauppetta, Samantha Childress, Huntalyn Childress, Bryce Childress, Katelynn Billiot, Madison Billiot, Kylie Billiot, Ethan Billiot, Camden Billiot, Carter Hinten, Coby Hinten, Camryn Riviere, Cruz Rodriguez, Rhyan Rodriguez, and Tayson Rodriguez. Brother of late Marie Barnes, late Doris Augustine, late Thelma Riviere, late Britten Riviere, Shirley Calhoun, Monroe Riviere, and Barry Riviere. He also had many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Bud resided in St. Bernard Parish for 53 years and was a retired carpenter & roofer. His greatest accomplishment was being a Husband, Daddy, and Pawpaw. His passion was the love for music, especially Elvis. He loved dancing and singing. He had a soft spot in his heart for animals. His favorite foods were red beans, baked ham, seafood okra gumbo, crawfish bisque, and peach cobbler. His favorite holiday was Christmas. He was a people’s person and was always the life of the party with his comedic personality. He would give the shirt off of his back and last dollar to anyone in need. Most of all he loved his wife and family. He was loved and cherished by all who met him. He will be deeply missed by all.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to join the Visitation at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home & Gardens, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA 70043 on Saturday, December 19, 2020 from 9:00AM - 12:00PM and the Funeral Mass at 12:00PM. He will be laid to rest privately.
