Pauline Rieder Merritt

Pauline Fayvilla Rieder Merritt passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the age of 102. She was the cherished wife of the late Harold R. Merritt Sr. Loving mother of Harold Raymond Merritt Jr. (Sandra). Daughter of the late Paul Rieder and Nora Cunningham Rieder. Sister of Mary Ragas and the late Warren Rieder and Paul Rieder Jr. Proud grandmother of Glen Merritt and Keith Merritt (Cindy). Great grandmother of Nicholas Merritt (Aimee), Joshua Merritt, Jacob Merritt and Sophia Merritt. Great great grandmother of Bailey Merritt.

Pauline was born in New Orleans, LA and was a lifelong resident of New Orleans before settling in Lacombe, LA. She found pleasure in the details of everyday life and cared deeply for others. She especially enjoyed her time spent with her family and friends. She was a devoted parishioner of Resurrection of Our Lord Church and thoroughly enjoyed her membership with the Busy Bees. Pauline will always be remembered for her loyalty and dedication to her family, her caring and loving spirit, her lively nature, and spoiling the grandchildren. She was well loved and will be deeply missed by us all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, November 25th from 12:00PM – 1:00PM, followed by a Mass in Pauline’s memory beginning at 1:00PM. She will be laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
