Rebecca DeFranza

Rebecca Ann Hammers DeFranza passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the age of 53. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she had touched in some way throughout her life. She was the cherished wife of Bernard DeFranza Sr. Loving mother of Shannon Janet, Bernard DeFranza Jr. (Jessica DeFranza), Joseph DeFranza, Nicholas DeFranza (Denise McCaskell), Joshua DeFranza (Betsy Rabalais) and Leslie Mason (Justin Mason). Daughter of the late Roy Hammers and Beverly Appel. Step-daughter of Andrew Appel. Daughter-in-law of Emma DeFranza. Proud grandmother of Jessica Noel (Jude Perez), Chad St. Pe Jr., Gage St. Pe, Kaysen DeFranza, Carsten DeFranza, Kullen DeFranza, Lauren Mason, Spencer Mason and Olivia Mason. Great grandmother of Liam Perez. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many cousins, relatives and dear friends. Rebecca was a native of New Orleans, LA and a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. She was well loved and will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter-in-law, step-daughter and a friend of many, who treasured her family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, 21st from 9:30AM – 12:00PM, followed by a memorial service beginning at 12:00PM. Burial will be private.
