Rene Steven Bruno

René Steven Bruno passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 6, 2015 at the age of 54. He was the loving father of Christie L. Bruno, Amy R. Bruno and Will A. Canada II. Devoted fiancé of 9 years to Jackie P. Rabalais. Brother of Gary Quentin Bruno. Proud grandfather of Gia L. Auzenne, Gabriel L. Auzenne, Caden Frizzell and Landon Frizzell. He is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents George Raymond Bruno and Evelyn Quentin Bruno and his brother Michael George Bruno. René was a native of New Orleans, LA and a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish before settling in Bush, LA following Hurricane Katrina. He enjoyed a long career as a manager with Renaissance Management trade show productions. When he wasn’t tending to business at the Convention Center, he would often enjoy spending time on the water with his friends and family. Although René’s life might have ended far too soon, we find comfort knowing that those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. René was a dedicated and loving father, companion and a friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who were touched by his love, kindness, laughter and compassion. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, July 16th from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a funeral service in his memory beginning at 1:00PM. He will be laid to rest with his parents in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
