Robert “Bob” Clifford Breuhl, Sr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at the age of 83. He was the loving father of Kathy B. McGoey (William), Robert C. Breuhl, Jr. (Michelle), and Bradford J. Breuhl. Proud grandfather of William R. McGoey, II (Whitney), Meredith L. McGoey, Carlye Breuhl Gongora (Nicholas) and Bailey A. Breuhl. Great grandfather of Maddie McGoey and Ellie Gongora. He is also survived by his younger brother Richard “Dickey” Breuhl. He was preceded in death by his second wife Lynn Mary Breuhl, and she is survived by her three children and two grandchildren.
Born in Youngstown, OH, grew up in New Orleans and became a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish, Bob dedicated much of his life to serving his community through a 35-year career with the U.S. Post Office. An avid sports enthusiast, Bob had a passion for golf, proudly holding membership at the City Park Golf Club. He also enjoyed playing tennis with his children and, in his younger years, served as an umpire for both high school and college games. His love for the sport began as a talented baseball pitcher for St. Aloysius High School, where he made lasting memories on and off the field.
His fondness for family and sports was surpassed only by his love for sweets - ice cream and Almond Joys were his all-time favorites. Even in a memory care facility, he found pleasure in everyday life and cared deeply for those around him. His good nature endeared him to everyone and he will be deeply missed.
The family would like to personally thank both Anderson at Summerfield Memory Care Facility (Slidell) and AGC Hospice for the great care and attention provided to our father.
