Robert Edward Byers

Robert “Bobby” Edward Byers passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 at the age of 81. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Germaine Dufour Byers, and by previous marriage, the late Marian Picou. Loving father of Deanne Kinkella (Ricky) and Barbara Fradella (Vincent). Son of the late Robert and Adele Radford Byers. Brother of Larry Byers (Sarah) and the late June Byers. Proud grandfather of Billy Walter (Pricilla), Meagan Toledo, Erica Blanchard (Kelly), Laynie Kinkella, Benny Kinkella and Michele Gerarve (Christopher). He is also survived and fondly remembered by his 19 great grandchildren, along with many cousins, relatives and dear friends.

Robert was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish where he enjoyed a long career as a gifted craftsman and remodeler. His passion for building things and talented woodworking craft was surpassed only by his love for being with his family and friends. He was well loved and affectionately known for his good nature and generous heart. He will be deeply missed by all who were touched by his love, kindness, laughter and compassion.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, November 11th from 9:00AM – 11:00AM, followed by a memorial service in Bobby’s memory beginning at 11:00AM. He will be laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
