Robert “Bob” Carlo Val Torres, Sr., age 86, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2015. He was a native of New Orleans and a long-time resident of Chalmette. Following Hurricane Katrina, Mr. Torres relocated to Slidell. Mr. Torres was the husband of the late Joan Muller Torres; son of the late George and Mabel Prince Torres, Sr.; special loving companion of Sylvia Lewis, who was his best friend and his rock; father of Karen T. Covington (Guy), Kevin Torres, Sr., Michael Torres (Elizabeth), Wendy T. Willis (Laird), and the late Robert “Bobby” Torres, Jr.; grandfather of Brandy Guidroz (Steven), Larry Zammit (Ashley), Kevin Torres, Jr. (Brandi), Jack Torres, Blair Torres, and Michael Torres, Jr.; great-grandfather of Cade, Elodie “Elie”, Hunter, Connor, and Alexa; brother of Joe, Lenny, Anna Mae, and the late George, Raymond, Alvin “AJ”, Rita, Roy, Vera, and Mary. Mr. Torres is also survived by many other family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 pm in the Chapel. Mr. Torres will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
