

Rodney P. Mader, Sr., loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, died peacefully at his home on Friday, June 2, 2023, at the age of 87. Born in New Orleans to Hermann Thomas and Aurelia Striethorst Mader on December 4, 1935. After marrying the love of his life, Loretta Marie St. Germain on June 28, 1953, he became a resident of Violet, Louisiana, where he and Loretta raised their four children.
Rodney is once again united with his cherished wife, Loretta, of 63 years. He leaves to cherish his memory, three children: Deborah Mader Naquin, Robert Mader, and Terri Mader Jackson. He was preceded in death by two of his children, the late Karen Ann and Rodney P. Mader, Jr. He was an admired father-in-Iaw to Erick Jackson and Charlene Mancuso Jackson.
He will be remembered by his 8 grandchildren: Arnold (Tracy), Chad and Barry Naquin, Erick (Amanda), Blake (Taylor), and Madison (Logan) Jackson, Brittany Jackson Miller (Ryan), and Courtney Jackson Neumeyer (Rodney), the late Robert Mader, Jr. as well as 15 great-grandchildren.
Rodney was employed by Lou-Con, Inc before retiring and was an active member of the UA Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 60 since 1954. If he wasn’t working around his garage, he was enjoying fishing and talking with his friends down in Delacroix Island.
Rodney wishes to spend eternity with his wife, Loretta and where he enjoyed fishing the most, so his ashes will be spread during a private service.
