Roy Louis Manalla Jr.

Roy Louis Manalla (better known as Whip) entered into eternal rest while surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 29, 2021 at the age of 67. Son of the late Roy Louis Manalla Sr. and Lois Fanz Manalla. Brother of Cindy Manalla Schulz and Rosalind Manalla Lamarque. Roy is survived by the mother of his children Kim Vedrenne Manalla. Beloved father of Nicole Manalla Lafrance (Cliff), Nathan Roy Manalla (Cheramie), and Neal Manalla (Cherie). Proud grandfather of Hannah Lafrance (Walter), Alexander "Alec" Lafrance, Ashton Lafrance, Ella Lafrance, Kayla Manalla, Mya Manalla, and Cecilia Manalla. Also survived and fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Roy was born on November 25, 1953 in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. Roy was a retired clerk from the New Orleans Clerk and Checkers on the Riverfront. Sixteen years ago, Roy moved to Diamondhead Mississippi, where he spent his days doing what he loved, playing Golf and working part time at the Diamondhead Golf Club. He is also be fondly remembered by his good friends in Diamondhead.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701, W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a Memorial Mass beginning at 1:00PM. He will be laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
