Sherry Lynn Magruder passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021 at the age of 53. She was the cherished wife of Robert Lanier Sr., and by previous marriage, Marc Magruder. Loving mother of Amber Schoenberger, Victoria Schoenberger and Nora Rizzuto. Proud grandmother of Naomi Schoenberger, William Bennett and Benjamin George. Sister of Kathy Goettz and Joann Bert. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Sherry was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish where she enjoyed a long career as a grocery store manager and raising her children. She found pleasure in the details of everyday life and caring deeply for others. Sherry will always be remembered for her dedication to her family, her loving spirit and the time spent with her family. She was well loved and will be deeply missed by us all.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, October 15th from 10:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a Memorial Mass in Sherry’s memory beginning at 1:00PM. She will be laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. Due to COVID-19, face masks and social distancing are required.
