It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Shirley Elizabeth Cambas, a devoted homemaker who found joy in nurturing her family. Shirley passed away peacefully on Wednesday February, 7, 2024 at the age of 87.
Born on October 31, 1936 in New Orleans, Louisiana, Shirley was the epitome of love, compassion, and selflessness. She dedicated her life to creating a warm and welcoming home for her family, where love and laughter filled the air.
Shirley knew no bounds, and she poured her heart into every aspect of her family’s lives.
She is survived by her loving children Cathy Cambas, Buddy Cambas (Luanna), David Cambas (Sharon) and her many grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-six years Theophile Buddy Cambas; parents Frank and Margaret Holland; and daughters Julie Cambas Shepperson (Michael) and Donna Cambas Barr (Richard).
Though she may no longer be there in person, her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched and the lessons of love and resilience she imparted.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a committal service on Monday, February 26, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
