Susan Marie Besse, passed away after a battle with Multiple Scleriosis on March 12, 2023. She was born on November 14, 1946 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Denis & Ethel Schaff. She was the sister of Denis Schaff III (Jackie), and Rosemary Bonck. She was married to Vernon Besse Sr. who preceded her in death in 2018. She was the sister in law of Georgia and Joe Marchetta. She was a dedicated mother to Patricia Besse D’Antoni(Bruce) and Vernon “Duke” Besse Jr. She was the loving grandmother of Kacie, Nicholas, Kara D’Antoni, Jacob Besse and Katie. Great grandmother (Nana) of 6. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many lifetime friends. She worked at Stiel Insurance Company in Metairie, Louisiana for many years until her retirement. Susan was long time Saints fan as well as an avid racquetball, volleyball, and softball player. She also loved to run and participated in many marathons. Susan was a lover of animals, and will always be remembered for her kind soul. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A private family memorial will be held.
