Vincent John “Buddy” Morici Jr. passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at the age of 92. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that he had touched in some way throughout his very memorable life. He was the beloved husband of 65 years to the late Carolyn Dupre Morici. He is the loving father of Marion Schubert (RJ), Vincent (John) Morici III (Maria), David Morici and Melissa Plaisance. Son of the late Josephine Biundo Morici and Vincent Morici Sr. Brother of Josephine M. Stephens and the late Jack Morici, Frances M. Santangelo, Jenny M. Fabre, Rita M. Hoehn, Margaret M. Lange, Pat M. Hall, Marian M. Field and Ann M. Buras. Proud grandfather of Derek Schubert (Tabetha), Amanda Balli (Johnny), Stephanie Morici (Cameron), Donald Plaisance (Rosalyn) and Allison Morici (Chance). Great grandfather of Aubrey, Paisley, Chandler, Austin, Ellie, Ashton, Johnny, June and Archie. He is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and loving "Bob" to Terri Morici.
Born in Amite, Louisiana, Buddy was a proud resident of St. Bernard Parish for more than six decades, having made it his home since 1960. He honorably served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, Buddy built a long and respected career in telecommunications, working for South Central Bell and later AT&T.
Buddy found his greatest joy in life’s simple pleasures. The pride in his family could be seen in his eyes, felt in his hugs, and heard in the way he spoke our names. He cherished time spent on the water, often fishing quietly alongside his beloved wife, Carolyn. Even well into their 80s, the two remained active, still “sneaking out” for fishing trips together. He also had a deep love for gardening and was especially known for his beautiful tomatoes, okra, and mirlitons, which he proudly shared with family and friends.
An avid traveler, Buddy especially loved exploring the mountains with Carolyn, finding peace and beauty in nature. He noticed and appreciated the small details of everyday life and cared deeply for those around him. Buddy will always be remembered for his deep loyalty and dedication to his family, his kind and loving spirit, his laughter, and his joy in spoiling his grandchildren. Rest in peace, our dear Buddy. You were our pillar of courage and strength and a wonderful example of what it means to care for others.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, December 22nd from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a Funeral Mass in Buddy’s memory beginning at 1:00PM.
