

Aaron was born in Tucson, Arizona on September 01, 1950. Aaron attended first grade in Casa Grande, Arizona and Murphy Elementary School District. He graduated from Clarkston High School in Clarkston, Georgia in 1968. He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Arizona State University in 1984. In addition, he received a master’s degree from ASU in Public Administration (MPA) on May 16, 1986.
Prior to earning his degrees from ASU, Aaron proudly served as a Marine, from September 13, 1971, until May 29, 1975. He served the last three weeks of his military tour in Vietnam. Aaron was part of the evacuation of Saigon in April 1975, on the ship Dubuque, a helicopter vessel. His primary specialty was combat/engineering, mines/countermines demolition. Aaron’s military commendations included an expert marksman with the M16. As Aaron described, he could hit the mark at 600 yards in a space of eight inches. In addition to Letter of Recognition, he completed his military service as an E-3. While in Korea, Aaron’s unit participated in Toys for Tots.
Though Aaron passed the ASU law entrance exam, Aaron chose to start his own business in tree trimming in the Phoenix/Mesa area for about three years. Aaron became an independent salesman for farming equipment, John Deere, his sales territories west of the Mississippi. He had a passion for classical, religious and 1950-to 1960’s music. Aaron loved white roses. The hummingbird reminded Aaron that his father was okay.
Aaron is survived by his four children, Annette Marie Haggan, Christine Elizabeth Bitter, both living in California, Tammie Marie Olson and Rachel Ann Ramos living in the Phoenix area. Aaron was blessed with ten grandchildren, Adam Jeffry Bitter, Aaron Neil Bitter, Isabel Cristina Bitter, Kathryn Isabella Triplett, Jeramiah Alexander Triplett, Isaiah Gabriel Triplett, William Charles Haggan, Tristan Moody Haggan, Peter Gene Haggan and Devon Knight Lundgren.
Aaron’s siblings include Margie Ramos Sheppard (Georgia), Consuelo Ramos Kight (Texas), Joel Stanley Ramos (California), Grizelda “Celda” Ramos Valenzuela, Israel Finley Ramos, Roland Naphtali Ramos, Sonia Ramos Nandin and Ruth Angela Ramos Parra, living in the Phoenix area.
Aaron’s is preceded in death by his older sister, Ana Felicita (Anita) Santiago Ortiz, his parents, Gilbert Edward Palacio Ramos, born in Yuma, Arizona and Maria Felicita Ortiz Ramos, born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico. Aaron’s paternal grandparents were Roman Sandoval Ramos, born in Aguascalientes, Mexico, Maria Angela Palacio Ramos, born in Yuma; maternal grandparents were Eladio Rodriguez Ortiz and Francesca Berrios Ortiz from Barranquitas, Puerto Rico.
A Funeral and Celebration of Life will be held on October 6, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. with a gathering beginning at 11:30 am at Valley of the Sun Mortuary, located at 10940 East Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, Arizona, 85248.
Following the funeral, a Graveside Service with Military Honors will take place at the Valley of the Sun Mortuary & Cemetery, at the same address at 1:00 pm.
