Just saw this, and am sorry for your loss. I first met Arnie when I started in Ford parts at Mel Clayton Ford in 1981. Arnie was at Covey L-M and I bought my parts from him. I had the pleasure of working with him many years later at Earnhardt Ford. Arnie was a great guy, a great old school partsman and a lot of fun to hang with. RIP, Arnie. You were one of a kind.

    RIP: ARNIE.......

When Arnie was maybe 8 or 9 and I was about 6 or 7 Arnie was staying at our house with his Aunt Chris and Uncle Norm.  Sometime after dinner one night, eaten on TV tables,  some spinach was found under the couch.  Somehow I was blamed - and lets just say I received some type of corporal punishment.  But I was innocent.  Since it wasn't me, and I doubt is was his Aunt Chris or Uncle Norm, there's only one real suspect.  Imagine my surprise when the guy who, as a child,  wouldn't eat spinach, who wouldn't go swimming until his Aunt Chris made him go in the water, grew up to become a United States Marine.  Instead of living his life dodging difficult challenges, Arnie stepped up and volunteered to do something that would challenge anyone.  And in the years that followed, as Arnie married and had a daughter, and then a granddaughter, he remained a quiet and unassuming man, someone who knew he didn't have to prove anything to anyone else.  Because he had proved all that he needed to prove - to himself.  RIP Arnie.
