Barbara Ann Hall, beloved by all who had the joy of knowing her, passed away on November 30th, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on April 17th, 1940, in Houston, Texas, she grew up in a military family and lived in many locations around the country in her youth. She attended Carlmont High School in San Carlos, California, where she met her first husband, Paul Elmer. They married and had three children.
Later in life, Barb met her second husband, Dave, while working as a bank teller for Wells Fargo Bank in Campbell, California. Dave was brave enough to marry a woman with three teen/pre-teen children, and despite the challenges of a blended family, they created a life together full of love and laughter.
They moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1984, when Dave was transferred with Intel to their growing Chandler operation. They put down roots and made many lifelong friends in Arizona, and loved life in their beautiful home in Ahwatukee, where they celebrated holidays and countless family gatherings.
Barb was a devoted wife, married to Dave for 52 wonderful years, and together they built a loving family. She was survived by her brother Steve (Margriet) Berkheiser, who passed away in February of this year. She is also survived by her youngest brother, Jeff (Donna) Berkheiser, her daughters Laurie Conley and Lisa (Steve) Cass, and her son, Todd Elmer. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Matthew Frazier, Joshua (Tamra) Schaecher, Caitlyn Conley (Mickey Griep), David (Rachael) Harrison, Christy (Joshua) Clutter, and Nicholas, Tyler, and Cabrya Elmer. She also had two great-grandchildren, Kenzie Harrison and Malachi Clutter, and is survived by many adoring nieces and nephews.
Barb studied color theory and fashion consulting at De Anza College in Cupertino, California, and especially loved choosing Dave’s work wardrobe. Her interests extended beyond her career, as she enjoyed spending time with her family, caring for her beloved cats, gardening, reading, traveling, collecting antiques, quilting, shopping, and appreciating the beauty of nature.
Her great sense of humor was a defining trait, bringing joy and laughter to those fortunate enough to know her. Barbara’s warmth and wit will be sorely missed but fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of her company.
