She was born on September 8, 1940, in Marengo, Iowa, the oldest of five children of Charles and Bertha Schott.
Bernadette lived in Boulder County and attended schools in Longmont and college at Loretta Heights before becoming a flight attendant for Frontier Airlines. She met and married Larry E. Toler in 1963.
They moved to the San Francisco area where they raised their three children, Sharon Specht, Larry Toler, Jr and Rhonda Jordan. They later moved to Gilbert, Arizona.
Bernadette is preceded in death by her son Charles Harrison Toler, brother Louis Schott, husband Larry Toler and her parents. She is very much missed and survived by Sharon, Larry Jr. and Rhonda, five grandchildren; Stephanie, Nicholas, Rhylae, Logan and Chloe and four great grandchildren; Levi, Oakley, Hadley and Hudson, as well as her sister Patricia Hesselius and brothers John and Charles.
Services will be held on March 2, 2024 at Saint Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Boulder at 10:30AM, followed by a Celebration of Life for family and close friends. Interment is planned at Mountain View Memorial Park in Boulder at 1PM.
