Betty J. Ritchie

During the late afternoon of January 20, 2014, Betty Jane Ritchie passed away peacefully after a short battle from cancer; she was 82 years old. Betty was born in Goodman, Wisconsin and graduated from Crandon High School. After attending business school, she worked with various non-profit government agencies before retiring. Betty lived in Maryland and Michigan before moving to Arizona in 1997.

As a Forest County Potawatomi tribal member, Betty was proud of her Native American heritage. She also enjoyed shopping, dining out, friends, and the retirement home she built in Springfield Active Adult Community. Betty loved her family, but most of all she adored and spoiled her two grandsons, Nick and Chris.

Betty is survived by her: daughter, Jane; son-in-law, Craig; grandsons Nick and Chris; sister Sharon and family; brother Robert and family; and cousin Clarice. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Lottie and Harry, niece Vicky, and many other family members and dear friends.
