Bhalchandra Rambhai Patel

Dr. Patel was born in Kuvad, Gujarat, India on August 1, 1944 to Rambhai and Maniben Patel. Dr. Patel met the love of his life, Dr. Hemlata Patel, née Trivedi, in 1963 in their first year of medical school. He was instantly enamored with her and their life together began. The two were married on January 3, 1966.

After graduating from medical school and obtaining his Masters of Surgery degree, Dr. Patel and Dr. Hema made a journey to the United Kingdom to further their education. Dr. Patel subsequently became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Scotland was also where Dr. Patel learned and came to love golf. Golf was a huge passion of his as it required determination and precision, much like his career. Having been born into a farming community, Dr. Patel also had a passion for gardening which he continually pursued during his life. During his later years, Dr. Patel and Dr. Hema loved spending time on cruises, traveling, and visiting all manner of places in the world. Dr. Patel loved to play bridge and cherished that time spent with his friends.

Dr. Patel had two daughters of whom he was very proud, Purvi Roe (Cody) and Ami Patel (Derick Valentine). During his later years, he was blessed with five grandchildren, Jaya, Sophia, and Dominic Roe, and Lark and Indigo Valentine. Dr. Patel was incredibly proud of his family. He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren, as well as his four brothers and their families.

Dr. Patel will be sorely missed and always remembered.
