

Deanna was born to Cloyd and Leta Cushman in Shidler, Oklahoma. She graduated from Newkirk High School in 1966 in Newkirk, Oklahoma. After high school, she attended interior design school and modeling school.
Deanna had a passion for interior decorating and design and completed various projects for family and friends. She also worked in the casino industry where she was surrounded by future close friends.
Deanna loved to dance and also loved attending concerts such as Journey and Foreigner. She loved listening to Elvis Presley. She also loved the ocean and the beach.
Deanna deeply loved her Savior, Redeemer, and Friend, Jesus Christ. Whenever she shared a story about how He had answered her prayers or worked in her family’s life, her excitement was unmistakable. Her eyes would shine with amazement and wonder as she spoke of Him. Now that she has seen Him face to face, she would surely tell us she had no idea just how wonderful He truly is.
Deanna was a faithful prayer warrior who firmly believed in the power of intercession. In her Bible, she kept a prayer list that extended even to future generations—people she might never meet but cared for deeply through her prayers as her own grandmother did.
She consistently put the needs and interests of others before her own, pouring out her life in love and service to her family and friends. Deanna lived with purpose, demonstrating a life centered on faith, compassion, and selflessness—truly an example of the most meaningful life one could live.
Deanna was very passionate about life and was always ready to step in wherever her family needed her. She embraced each day with a willing heart and a joyful spirit, never hesitating to give of herself for the sake of those she loved.
She loved life deeply and was driven by a passion that touched everything she did. Whether in big moments or quiet, everyday acts of care, Deanna lived with intention and enthusiasm. Her love was evident in her actions, her words, and the way she made others feel seen, valued, and cherished.
Her presence brought warmth and comfort, and her unwavering devotion to her family created a foundation of strength and love that will continue for generations. Deanna’s life was a beautiful reflection of her faith, her passion, and her deep love for others.
Deanna is survived by daughter, Tracie Dabney; son, Brandon (Sarah) Ames; Grandchildren: Kenneth Kyle Dabney, Kayla (John) McLeroy, Waldo Huggins, Dawson Stacey, Kassadee Dabney-Nagel; Great grandchildren: Rowdy Dabney Trimmer, Dakota Dabney Trimmer, Harley Goforth, Brayden Dabney Garrison, Bentley Dabney Garrison, Aniya Huggins, Layton McLeroy, and Parker McLeroy; Sisters: Carolyn Doyel and Darci (Jeff) Miller. She is preceded in passing by her parents, Cloyd and Leta; and her brothers: Gary and Melvin Cushman.
A Funeral and Celebration a Life for Deanna will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, April 13, 2026 at Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery: 10940 E Chandler Heights Rd. Chandler, Arizona 85248. Her graveside service in the cemetery will immediately follow.
Special thanks to Howard for his generosity, and the fun and loving companionship he added to Deanna's life. The family also expresses thanks to Brenda for her support, as well as all the many family and friends who helped make Deanna's celebration possible.
