

Dorothy E. Rons was born on November 12, 1925 in Sheldon, Iowa. She is the daughter of John and Magarena Verrips Vander Haar. She had one brother, Dwight Vander Haar.
Dorothy spent her youth in Boyden, Iowa and graduated from Boyden High School in 1943.
She loved music and learned to play the piano and organ as a young girl.
Dorothy was united in marriage to William “Bill” Rons on December 11, 1946 at the First Reformed Church in Boyden, Iowa. They had four children (Gary, Arlen, Sandra and Loren).
They farmed in the Boyden, Hull and Sanborn area. Dorothy was the organist at the First Reformed Church in Boyden for many years until the family moved to Illinois in 1968. While living in Illinois, Dorothy enjoyed working in retail sales for ten years. In 1978, they moved to Mesa, Arizona. Dorothy worked at Ironwood Lithographers, a company owned by her brother Dwight Vander Haar, for twenty years until she retired in 1998. Dorothy continued her love of music for many years as the organist at Desert Haven Church in Mesa, Arizona.
Dorothy enjoyed reading, solving word puzzles, having coffee with friends and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Bill) Chaney of Sammamish, WA, her son, Gary Rons of Chandler, AZ, her daughter in law, Kathy Rons of Sammamish, WA, four grandchildren, Lucas (Natalia) Rons of Kirkland, WA, Makell (Troy) Taylor of North Bend, WA, Nicholas Rons of Chandler, AZ, and Ryan (Bonnie) Chaney of Maple Valley, WA and two great grandchildren, Kesler Rons of Kirkland, WA and Lenora Chaney of Maple Valley, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Magarena Vander Haar, her brother, Dwight Vander Haar, her husband, William Rons and her sons, Arlen Rons and Loren Rons.
