Eric Van Dunn

12/31/1976 – 5/18/2023

After a battle with liver failure, Eric has rejoined his Heavenly and earthly father on the fairways in heaven. Though alcoholism caused his death, this is not what defines Eric or his life- he was so much more than his addiction. He was incredibly loved as a father, son, brother, and friend.

Eric was born on December 31, 1976 to Robert Max Dunn and Quinette Erickson Dunn. He grew up in West Jordan, UT and spent the latter part of his life in Phoenix, AZ. Being blessed with an advanced intellect, he was able to earn his GED, a realtor’s license, and an IT certificate where he spent the majority of his adult career in the software industry; particularly enjoying medical software.

Eric was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Washington D.C. South Mission. This was an experience he spoke about all throughout his life and also where he met Jenny Leonard whom he was married to from September 1999 until April 2018. She was one of his very best friends and the mother of his five children, whom he loved very much. Eric’s humor, often a reflection of his dad’s, will be missed until we meet again.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert Dunn and is survived by his five children Jessica, Kaylee, Liam, James, and Zac; Mother Quinette; siblings Shersten (Brandon) Buchholzer, Travis (Breea) Dunn, and Cambria (Richard) Montgomery along with each of their children.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – 2647 S Signal Butte Rd, Mesa, AZ, 85209. In lieu of flowers please serve someone you love!
