

Evelyn Jeanette Thompson, 85, joined her beloved husband, Myron, on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. Born Evelyn Jeanette Jensen on March 26, 1930 in Tomah, Wisconsin, Evelyn was the eighth of nine children born to Anton and Martha Jensen. Evelyn graduated from Tomah High School and moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where she met the love of her life Myron J. Thompson. They married on January 31, 1953 and together they raised four children: Clark (Don), Craig (Mary), Sara (Richard) and Dan (Ann). Evelyn is survived by her four children, sister Ruth Thompson, and brothers Ruben (Evelyn) and Arnold Jensen. Myron and Evelyn retired in 1992 and moved to the Phoenix, Arizona area. Evelyn loved her family and friends and enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards, golfing and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Myron and Evelyn were active in the church and with Meals on Wheels. Evelyn enjoyed visiting with the elderly and those who were housebound. Evelyn will be forever missed.
A memorial service will be held at Chandler United Methodist Church at 450 E Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, AZ 85249. chandlermethodist.org, at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, April, 4, 2016. There will be a time of fellowship and reflection following the memorial service.
