
It is with great sadness that the family of Howard Duncan announces his passing on Friday, June 25, 2021. He was called to heaven from his home in Maricopa, AZ at the age of 82. Howard was born on October 14, 1938, in Bedford, Indiana to Frank and Frances (Hendricks) Duncan.
He married Barbara Sullivan in 1959 (divorced) with whom he had 2 children. He then married Nancy R. Beckert in 1969 with whom he had 2 children. Nancy preceded him in death.
Howard was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his four children: Howard “Allen” (Penny) Duncan, Kirbyville, TX, Jeff (Lisa) Duncan of Midland, TX, Michelle “Shelly” (Joe) Cywinski of Gilbert, AZ, and Troy (Amanda) Duncan of Mesa, AZ. He was blessed with 13 grand children and 17 great grandchildren, along with countless cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Howard proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, he was a member of the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators & Asbestos Workers Union Local 73 for 50 plus years, he was an avid outdoorsman and angler, he dedicated a significant portion of his life to the Children of the American Cancer Society, and he loved being a musician, including his involvement in the choir at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Maricopa.
Through all his ventures he developed many irreplaceable friendships, and he will be greatly missed by all of them including his deep extended family.
On July 8, 2021, there will be a Rosary Service at 12:30pm followed by the Funeral Mass at 1pm in Maricopa, AZ at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Howard will be laid to rest immediately following at Valley of The Sun Cemetery in Chandler, AZ with Military Honors.
