Dr. Jogeswar Rath was born in Bargarh, Odisha, India. The son of a teacher, Jagadish, and loving mother, Dinamani, Jogesh was the youngest of nine children, of which his twin brother, Moheswar, is the only one remaining. In the latter part of the 60's he was given the opportunity to study medicine in the US, where he worked and lived in the northeastern US. He returned to India in 1973 to marry his wife of 49 years, Runubala. In 1976, together they moved to the US to permanently reside in Arizona. Jogeswar and Runubala primarily raised their 4 children in Safford, AZ where Jogesh focused on his passion of rural medicine. He is survived by his wife, Runu, and his four children, Nippon, Lincon, Tikon, and Sriya plus two daughters-in-law, Heather and Nancy, and 7 grandchildren -Joram, Kiran, Nisha, Afton, Marici, Rowan, and Helam.
A visitation for Jogeswar will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM at Valley of the Sun Mortuary & Cemetery, 10940 East Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, AZ 85248.
