John J Boyd

John J. Boyd, age 91, of Sun Lakes, Arizona, entered his heavenly kingdom on October 6, 2023. John was born on October 19th, 1931 in Davisport, Kentucky. After growing up in Kentucky and West Virginia with his six siblings, he married Dorothy Eversole in 1950 and they began their beautiful family and raised their four children in Akron, Ohio.

John was a life-long carpenter, builder, craftsman, and electrician. John moved to Chandler, Arizona in 1975 to join his father, Walter, and eventually took over the family business, Boyd’s Carpentry. After expanding the business, John ran Boyd’s Construction with his three sons until his retirement.

John married Julie Foster in 1976 and together they raised their daughter. Many happy memories were made boating and enjoying water sports at Canyon Lake and spending summer vacations in Pacific Beach, San Diego, California. John’s deepest loves were his family and the Lord. John was a man of strong faith and will be missed beyond measure.

John was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Dulcie Boyd; his sisters Loretta, Geraldine, and Dot; his wife, Julie; and his youngest son Jeff (Rikkie) Boyd.

John is survived by his four children, John Richard Boyd (Jennifer), Brenda Jodon (Patrick), Barry Boyd (Nancy), and Michelle Boyd; his sisters Doris Egnor and Merl Beck; his brother Jim Boyd (Sue); his grandchildren, John, Hollie, Crystal, Brandon, Melissa, Heather, and J.R.; 9 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews that he loved.

John will be laid to rest on his birthday, October 19th. Services will be held at 9 am at Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery in Chandler, Arizona.
