

JOHN C. “JACK” GRISINGER III 89, of Denver CO and Sun Lakes AZ, passed away on March 18, 2017 peacefully at home in Maricopa AZ. He was predeceased by his parents John C. and Marticia (Houston) Rohe, and his wife Dona M. (Leyendeck) Grisinger. Jack is survived by four children, Linda Grisinger of Aurora CO, Jim Grisinger and his wife Barbara of Englewood FL, Jonni Paxton and her husband Charles of Columbia MO, and Donald Hansen and his wife Leticia of Tucson AZ. Jack is also survived by his brother David Grisinger of Denver CO. Jack leaves seven grandchildren, Daniel Grisinger and his wife Ellen, Andrew Grisinger and his wife Jacy, Benjamin Grisinger and his wife Susan, Luke Paxton and his wife Shannon, Mark Paxton, Elisa Hansen and Meghan Hansen as well as and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom loved him dearly. Jack was born in Denver and was a longtime resident and real estate broker in Aurora CO, where he received numerous awards from the Aurora Board of Realtors and the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, who named him their Man of the Year in 1977. He served in the Army in World War II, and was active in the preservation of the Fitzsimons Army Medical Center. He moved to Sun Lakes AZ thirty-four years ago, and was very active in the Sun Lakes and Chandler communities. He enjoyed tennis, golf, croquet, photography, and hiking in the mountains. He spent the last years of his life happy with Christine Ross, who cared for him and showered him with love. Jack was a true gentleman, golf fan, and of course a Denver Broncos fan. He will be laid to rest beside his wife Dona at the Valley of the Sun cemetery in Chandler AZ and a private memorial service is planned in Aurora CO later this spring.
