Joseph E. Schultis, 89 of Mesa, AZ., passed away on September 25, 2013. “Joe” was born in Lansing, MI. on June 3, 1924 to Alfred and Mae Schultis. In 1947, he married Marion Kohlmeier, who preceded him in death. He later married Janette Kerilla in June 2003, who survives him. Joe had 27 years of Military Service in the United States Air Force. He was a well decorated fighter pilot in WWII, Korean and Vietnam conflicts. He was a captured POW in WWII. He also was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Alfred, sister Mary Pat and a granddaughter, Angela. Joe is survived by his 3 children, Susan Trial of Burnet, TX, Richard “Rick” Schultis of Queen Creek, AZ, Gary Schultis of Yuma, AZ and stepson Stephen Kerilla of CT. He has 13 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 1 step great grandchild and 2 great-great grandchildren.
