Gramps I just spent my first birthday ever without you although I did feel your presence it just wasn't the same... I can't wait to get back out to the ocean I felt much closer to you there, love you so much!

My Big Brother was the BEST!!!   We shared a lot of laughs over the years!!   I miss you BIG BROTHER more than you will ever know.   Thank you for always being there over the years! Grandpa didn't say much, but you always listened when he did. If you didn't, you would always regret it, like the time I flipped out of the pool!  He was a strong person and I respected him very much.  It was encouraging to hear how proud he was of me for going into engineering! He will be missed, but he will continue to live on in the hearts of the ones he loved.

Donna, I'm so sorry for your loss. I didn't get to know Joe as much as I would of like to, he was always very quite when we where together. But if there was one thing I could tell was was when someone he loved would go by, because his eyes would light up. I know this because whenever you or Braylyn passed by him and I caught a glimps of him I would see it in his eyes. I know it's hard to lose someone close, not the love of my life so I can only say that I know he is there waiting for you, for however long it will be for when it's your turn to join him. So please take comfort in knowing that although he isn't here with you in the physical sense he is always he in the spiritual sense. Love to you

On this Father's Day I just want to say how amazing of Dad, Grandpa and Great Grandpa Gramps was. He was the exact reason why there is a day like today, to cherish and appreciate just how much he did for all the family below him. No matter what lengths Gramps may of had to go he would make sure that the Truman family was taken care of and happy all of the time. This was one of the best men to ever walk with us and his drive and determination will keep me motivated to continue to strive for the best for my family too.

I want to take this opportunity to give my regards to a great man. A man that unselfishly invited me into his home, shared his family and treated me as part of his family. Mr. Truman you will be missed, but I know that you will always be watching over your family as you have always done. I will say thank you for your generosity and allowing me to be a part of your family. Mama Truman, Robin, Joelle and Tina you have my deepest sympathy during this trying time

Mrs. Truman and Family, I am so sorry for your lost. I knew Chief Truman and had nothing but respect for him. The men under him also had the up most respect. I worked under him in Neckarsulm,Germany ,C Co 55th Spt Bn. That was in 1988-89. I was his driver in the field and had memorable conversations with him.I knew he loved his family so much,his eyes would light up when he talked about you and his daughters. May God Bless. Joe was a wonderful person that I enjoyed having the pleasure of knowing.  I have known Joe for almost 17 years at Orbital.  I remember having great conversations with him about things ranging from the state of the country to the state of our company.  I will miss him dearly.  One thing that always came up in our conversations was his wonderful family, and that he loved you all so very much.

Although I didn't know Joe very well, I fondly remember when. Met him at Jeremy's 21st birthday when we all met in Las Vegas. We wen out to dinner and there I had a chance to chat with Joe about what he did and his travels. He always had a story and a smile. He was someone you had no choice but to like. I will always cherish those brief but lasting memories. Donna I wish I knew how to ease the pain but I haven't figured out how to do that yet. Just know he is with you and no longer suffering. You have amazing memories, keep them fresh in your mind. I'm sure it will bring a smile to your face.

So sorry for your loss.  I've know Joe ever since he joined Orbital and really enjoyed getting to know him.  We spent a lot of time together in New Mexico back in the day, those were good times.  RIP, Joe!

Donna and family,  I am so sorry to hear of your loss of a truly wonderful man.  I've known Joe for just over 20 years at Orbital.  We worked together on the STORM program in the early 90's, spending a lot of time with both Joe and Donna at White Sands Missile Range.  In many respects, Joe was a mentor and father figure to me in my early days of rockets.  He taught me all about logistics and the right questions to ask.  Most of all, he taught me that it is ok to not know all the answers, but to be humble, respectful, and open minded.  Many of those lessons I learned from, and continue to pass on today. Every day he brought a sense of fun, laughter, and camaraderie to the team.  He met challenge with coolness, boredom with fun.  He helped me to learn how to play golf, but the jury is still out as to whether that is bad or good.  Your family is in our thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.

Donna and family, may you each find comfort and peace in the loving memories you shared with Joe. Blessings to each of you as you journey through healing.

I have known Joe for ten years and worked and traveled with him on several missions to Hawaii and Huntsville.  The one thing that I could always count on was his daily phone call to Donna.  Every call ended the same, with what appeared to be Joe trying to get in the last I love you.  It might take three, sometimes twelve, every call ended that way and with a smile on his face.  I never asked if he ever got in the last I love you, I didn't need to. Joe was a good man and he will be missed.

Fond memories of Joe, Donna, and us in the White Mountains when we were all newly married. Later at Lake Winnipesaukee with all of Joe and Donna's  and our kids (eating Joe's famous ribs).. Later still in Germany right after the Berlin wall came down (eating Joe's salted radishes out of the trunk/going through checkpoints with huge German soldiers trying to sell us watches and belts/ the train ride back to our hotel).Jeeping cross country  off road in AZ. Bargain hunting in Alabama. Boating last fall in NH. Joe was always fun to be with and as good a brother in law as anyone ever had.

I am truly saddened by the passing of a good friend, Joe. I have many good memories of his humor, golfed with him many, many times. Worked with him on many of the White Sands missions. He was one of the true good people on this earth.
I will not be able to be there to attend the service but will be there in spirit.
