

and Verla Jean "McGreevy" Neel. They resided there until which time they moved to
Canton, Oklahoma when Mark was 2 years old. Mark welcomed a baby sister, Julie
Lynn, on August 5, 1954.
Mark attended Canton Public Schools graduating with the class of 1968. While in high
school Mark was a member of the band "Round Mound of Sound" with good friends
Randy Bateman, Steve Long, Tom Adams and Richard Ray Hoots. He then attended
Southwestern State College. While he was in Weatherford, he played in a group called
"The Judd". After returning to Canton, Mark was a member of the band "Battle Cry”,
along with his wife, Kris Anne.
In February 1971, Mark married Mary Ruth Hebensperger. To this union, on September
13, 1972, a boy, Jason Christopher was born.
In June 1979, Mark married Kris Anne Driessen. A baby boy, Elijah Mark, was born but
only lived a short time. A beautiful baby girl, Sierra Dawn, joined the family on August
18, 1984. She was the apple of her daddy's eye.
Mark's greatest joys were his music and his grandchildren, Elliot and Zoe. His love for
his family was immeasurable!
Mark spent part of his life in the mountains, which he always loved. He lived in several
locations in Colorado before settling in the Show Low- Pinetop, Arizona area. While
there he spent many years promoting music and shows at Hon-Dah Resort-Casino and
Conference Center on the Apache Reservation as Director of Entertainment and
Marketing Manager. Upon retirement Mark left many dear friends and relationships
there. At that time, he relocated to Chandler, Arizona to be near his grandchildren and
enjoy being a Grandpa.
Mark passed away on February 24, 2022, in Chandler, Arizona at the age of 71.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Verla "McGreevy" Neel,
grandparents, Mark and Ruby "Fisher" McGreevy, W.L. "Speedy" and Esther V.
"Kabler" Neel and son, Elijah Neel.
Mark is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sierra and Rob Rose and their children
Elliot and Zoe of Chandler, Arizona; a son, Jason Williams of Albuquerque, New
Mexico; a sister, Julie Boucher of Canton, Oklahoma; a niece and husband, Raeonna and
Michael Hilterbran of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and many special aunts, uncles, cousins
and a host of many friends.
