Skip was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on August 31, 1935 to the late Eddie and Mary Ina Johnson. He is survived by his devoted wife of 28 years, Patricia Herbert; his daughters, Karen Wade and Kelly James; grandchildren, Sara Scott, A.J. James and Tasha James; and his three great-grandsons, Luke, Evan and Beau Quintero.
Skip proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. As a member of the Korean War Vets Association, the V.F.W., Desert Navy and State Commander of Korean War Veteran Association, he was truly dedicated to his veteran groups. Outside of the Navy, Skip held a prominent position in law enforcement as Chief of Police in Lusk, Wyoming for many years.
