Lucy was born on 1-7-1931 in Chandler ,Az to Anastacio and Cornelia Ortega. She was preceded in death by her parents: brothers, Esteban Ortega, Juan "Bones" Ortega, Richard Ortega and sisters Josephina Gutierrez and Connie Aguilar. Surviving are her daughter Sylvia Fimbres,her brother Damaseno "Cheno" Ortega and her sister Manuela "Nellie" Ortega. She also left behind 4 grandkids,8 great grandkids, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Lucy worked at Chandler Community Hospital for several years and also at Chandler Regional Hospital when it opened its doors. Lucy's greatest legacy was her grandchildren. They were always able to bring a smile and laughter to her face. Lucy was a avid baker and loved to involve her great-grandchildren. She also made the best tortillas.
