

Lyle Lawrence Pierce, 85, of Chandler, AZ passed away on July 7, 2014. Preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Mabel Pierce, and brother Dean Pierce. Survived by his wife Betty; children Richard (Brigita), Helen Morgan, Bruce, and Dale (Sherri) ; grandchildren Laura, Erik, Ashley, Taylor, Tiffany Gray (David), Daniel (Emma), Nathaniel, Jonathan, and Dale Jr; great-granddaughter Natalie Nortness; sisters Leah, LaVonne, Norma; brothers Lynn, Neal, Gordon (Helen), Ronald (Linda Darlene), and Michael (Linda); and numerous nieces, nephews and their children.
Born in Coggon, Iowa on January 24, 1929, Lyle retired from the US Government Civil Service, served in the US Army in Japan after WWII and during the Korean War, and was also a part time minister. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 14th at 5 pm at Valley of the Sun Mortuary. The inurnment will take place at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona at a later date.
