Maria Guadalupe “Lupita” Medina Becerra, age 87, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026. She was born in Acatic, Jalisco on October 13, 1938, to the late Pioquinto Medina and Juana Almaraz Padilla.
Lupita was a devoted homemaker whose greatest joy in life was her family. Her children were always her priority, and she took great pride in caring for those she loved.
Lupita enjoyed sewing, cooking delicious meals for her family, listening to music, and tending to her plants. She had a nurturing heart that extended beyond her family, and she lovingly cared for her bird and beloved dog, Benji.
Above all, she will be remembered for the love she gave so freely to her children and family. Her kindness, devotion, and the home she created will remain a lasting part of the lives of all who knew and loved her.
Lupita is survived by her daughters, Maria Elena and Anna Rosa; her sons, Gerardo, Daniel, Eduardo Javier and Miguel; grandchildren, Angel, Nancy, Cindy, Delores, Alfredo, Gerardo, Judith, Melissa, Rosalya, Deana, Martin Jr., Jasmin, Jessica, Vincent Jr., Stephanie, Cynthia, and Eduardo Javier Jr.; step-grandchildren, Armando, Alondra, Marlen and Jorge; her great-grandchildren, Richard, Monique, Alekcis, Destiny, Christopher, Evelyn, Anaya, Jayden, Julian, Maya, Giovanni, Benita, Gavin, Isabel, Joana, Emily, E’Lyza, Emma, Bianca, Alexia, Julian Jr., Kaden, Jacen, Luna, and Nova; step-great-grandchildren, Dylan and Jonathan; and great-great-grandchildren, Athena and Tiana.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Jesus Becerra; sons Hilario and Alfredo; grandchildren, Patricia Yvette and Gerardo Arthur; great-grandchildren, Daniel Israel, Angel Santos, Christopher Alexander; her parents; sisters, Isabel, Maria del Refugio, and Alejandra; and her brothers, Antonio, Elias, Feliciano, Hilario and Ruperto.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation to be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Valley of the Sun Mortuary, 10940 E. Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, AZ 85248 from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
A family viewing from 8:00-10:00 a.m. will be held before the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on the following day, Thursday, August 27, 2026, at the mortuary with burial to follow in Valley of the Sun Cemetery.
