Born 6-14-29 in Viking, MN – died 7-24-12 in Gilbert, AZ. She was married 62 yrs to Othmar (Shorty) Rymer who precedes her in death. Also proceeding her in death are: parents – Albert & Myrtle Johnson; brothers Donald & Floyd Johnson; sisters Margorie Morken & Jo Ann Scarpo; son David Rymer and daughter Donna Thompson Rymer. Mavis is survived by her children: Daniel (Sylvia) Rymer, Gene Rymer; Diane (Tony) McCraw ; eight granddaughters and thirteen great grandchildren. Mavis and Shorty were foster parents to many children when they lived in Prescott Valley. Mavis was a seamstress; she sewed the Chandler HS Cheerleaders uniforms for many years. She was a Den mother and a great friend to many. Mavis enjoyed dancing (in her younger years), playing pinnacle and bingo. A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chandler, AZ on Monday, July 30 at 4pm.
