

Nadine was born on June 6, 1937, in San Diego, California, the third child of Lila Bella and Wood Wythle Moore.
Following graduation from Salinas High School, Nadine received her nursing degree from Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. She then traveled to Malaysia and Vietnam to join the Peace Corps. from 1963 1966. While serving there, she met her lifelong partner, Alexander “Alec” Salley.
After returning to the U.S., Nadine settled in Massachusetts, where she obtained a nursing career that spanned more than forty years. In 2010, following her retirement, after several decades of a long distance romance, Nadine moved to North Carolina to join Alec. She described this as a wonderful time in her life.
Nadine was a beautiful, strong, kind, independent woman who dedicated her life in service of others. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed world-wide travel and spending time with family and friends.
Most recently, Nadine was extremely happy for the reunion between she and her brother, Roderick “Rod” Moore, and sister-in-law, Carol.
Nadine is survived by her brother, Roderick (Carol) Moore; half-brothers, John (Vickie) Moore and David Moore; nieces, Christine (Doug) Linwood, Kathy (Lee) Schahrer, Carolyn (Joe) Vincent, Mary (Ken) Davis, and nephews, Steven (Susan) Moore and Dan (Dawn) Moore, cousin, Carole Modis and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Thomas Moore; and the love of her life, Alec Salley.
A Celebration of Life for Nadine will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at the Chandler Nature Center: 4050 E Chandler Heights Road - Chandler, Arizona 85249.
