In addition to a fierce dedication to his family, he also had great dedication to our country and served in the military for much of his life.
In 1952 he went to serve in Korea. Shortly after he went to OCS and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1954. Aside from his many accomplishments in the military and his civilian career, he will be remembered for the things that don’t have rank or titles.
He will be remembered for his love of travel and the many trips to Nags Head with the family on the beach, the summer days and warm nights spent on their houseboat, the talks and laughs had on the back porch after a family gathering, the bike rides, walks and piano sessions with his grandkids.
He was many times the voice of reason and wisdom when asking for advice. His guidance and love for his family never wavered and was always evident in his actions. He will be missed and thought of daily by all who were lucky enough to know him and celebrated in the memories of his family and friends forever.
