Riann Alorae Curry

She was born in Bloomington IL on Monday December 22nd, 2003, to Anitra Curry and Dan Van. She attended high school at El Dorado where she was a junior and an aspiring artist.

Riann had a smile that would light up a room. The brightness of her smile only matched in comparison by her flare for fashion design, and amazing ability to take the perfect selfie showing off her creativity with her love for hairstyles that were always on point. She was a fierce friend and loved her family with that same veracity. Riann was known for her pranks and jokes and never really stayed in one place for too long.

She is survived by her mother, Anitra Curry; her father, Dan Van; her brothers, Darius Curry, Dantez Curry, LaDaneon Curry, Darcell Van, Gabriel Van, Derek Novacek; her sisters, Latisha James, Monique Harris, Gabrielle Van, Sade Smith and Michel’le Van; her grandmother, Joyce Curry; her grandfathers, Ron Curry Sr and John Afful. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins that will miss her terribly.

She is preceded in death by her uncle, Ron Curry; grandmother, Adisa Afful; grandfather, Ben Van; great grandmothers, Justine Jones; Fannie Mae Tucker; Thelma Brown; Agnus Curry and great grandfathers, Jesse Manns Sr and Samuel Curry.

Services will be held at Valley of the Sun Mortuary & Cemetery on Saturday April 2, 2022. Visitation will be at 2 pm followed by funeral services at 3 pm officiated by Pastor Mosely. Repast to follow service at San Villante Community Room 4760 E Baseline Rd, Mesa AZ 85206.
