

He was born to the late Thomas and Martha (Szyper) in Buffalo, New York.
In his early years, Richard attended St. Casimir School. He went on to graduate from both Canisius High School and Canisius College. On May 20, 1961 Richard married his sweetheart Nancy Koch. They moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1983.
In Buffalo, Richard worked for Gutman’s, a local women’s apparel chain, from 1962 to 1983 as the Controller. In Phoenix, he worked for Bearing-Belt & Chain, Inc. from 1983 to 2012. He started as the Controller, and then in 1995 became the President of the company.
Richard was a true family man and spent most of his free time with his loved ones. He enjoyed reading books, relaxing by the pool with a glass of wine, and went on several cruises with his wife.
Richard is survived by his wife and four children: Denise, Deborah, Doug (Mary-Ann), and Nicole (Mike). He is also survived by his seven grandchildren: Danielle, Samantha, Kimberly, Kaitlyn, Blake, Madison, and Cole. And he is also survived by his sister Joan (Ralph) Leskiw, her three children, and her grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered by all.
A viewing will be held in Chandler at Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery on Friday June 29 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. A viewing, funeral service, and reception will be held in Chandler at Sun Lakes Chapel on Saturday June 30 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.
