

Bob passed away on September 18th 2015 surrounded by his family. Bob resided in Sun Lakes, AZ, born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. Bob’s career at 3M Company spanned over 30 years with a focus on consumer electronics, including Global Director of Sales & Marketing for ‘Scotch’ brand media products. As a father and provider, Bob brought his family with 3M from Cincinnati to Southern California to Edina, Minnesota. Bob traveled the world sharing his joy and enthusiasm for life. Everyone he touched encountered his extraordinary loving and caring spirit. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Jeanette Burnett (Jan). Son Scott and wife Tami their children Joey and Eric, Son Mike and wife Suzanne their children Emily, John and Tommy, Son Bob and wife Jody, Daughter Teri and child Paige.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 PM Thursday Oct 1 at Valley of the Sun Mortuary & Cemetery 10940 E. Chandler Heights Rd., Chandler, AZ 85248. Bob’s Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM at St. Steven’s Catholic Church, 24827 S. Dobson Road, Sun Lakes, AZ 85248 on October 2nd 2015.

Bob was born in July 1935 in Cincinnati, OH to parents Jule and Marion. He was the second of 4 children with two brothers (Dale (deceased) , Darrell) and younger sister (Joy). Bob passed away September 18, 2015 surrounded by the love of his family.
In Cincinnati, Bob’s early years were full of music, Sports and Electronics. Bob played the major sports, Football, Basketball and Baseball. When asked which was his favorite? Bob would reply, “Whatever is in season.” Following high school, Bob enlisted in the Army where he once again was recognized as an athlete playing all seasons while based in Ft. Riley, KS.
Bob married his grade school sweetheart and love of his life, Jeanette (Jan) in 1957. Over 58 years, Bob provided and supported his loving family bringing them to California to Minnesota with 3M Company and finally retiring from the “Great White North” to “Sunny” Arizona.
Over the course of three-decades, Bob held senior leadership positions at 3M including global director of sales & marketing for ‘Scotch’ brand media products. Having served on the board of directors of the Consumer Electronics Association, Bob leaves a legacy with a profound impact on the people and Industry he loved.
Bob’s focus in life was the family he treasured, providing ever-lasting leadership love and affection. His children include his son Scott and wife Tami, their sons Joey and Eric, son Mike and his wife Suzanne, their two sons John and Tom and daughter Emily, son Bob and his wife Jody and daughter Teri and her daughter Paige. Bob cherished his grandchildren providing endless love and guidance. His grandkids looked to him as a pillar of wisdom and strength.
Bob followed and professed the Ignatian words passed on from his father Jule: “Pray as if everything depends on God and Act as if everything depends on you,” and he would add, “…and you’ll never lose.”
Bob touched the lives of so many during his lifetime, always with sincere attention, fully engaged with his smile. So apropos was his last croon …. “When you’re smiling...the whole world smiles with you….”
